ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens delivered some 15,000 face masks to the St. Louis Fire Department on Monday.

St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson says the masks are needed by his first responders. He says his ambulance crews are responding to between 25 and 30 calls a day from people who think they have the coronavirus.

Jenkerson says 2,500 masks each will go to St. Louis City and County police, and some others to first responders in Kansas City and St. Joseph, Mo. He says the masks are valued at $80,000 are were paid for by donors who Greitens rallied to get involved.

Greitens refused to speak but posed for pictures. In February Greitens did a series of interviews saying "anything is possible," when asked about a possible return to politics.
