ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Lower interest rates could help fuel the fall housing market in the St. Louis region.

Ed Vogt, Senior Vice President of Central Bank of St. Louis tells KMOX there is typically a drop in home sales after August, "but as we go into the next few months I think most economists would suggest that the lower interest rates will generate more interest and more activity through the next few months when compared to 2018."

Vogt tells KMOX while home prices are cooling nationally, the median home price in our region was up more than 7% this August compared to the same month last year.
