John Brebbia doesn't take a second of his time with the Cardinals for granted

"It's nice to be so serious about a game ... I think that's kind of what makes the Cardinals, the Cardinals."

JUPITER, Fla. (KMOX) - Behind the daily humor, fascination with umbrellas and comedically grizzly beard that will be grown throughout the season is the ultra-competitive baseball player John Brebbia.

The 29-year-old is set to begin his fourth season with the St. Louis Cardinals and we talked to him after he showed a side of himself at Spring Training that not many would expect of him.

His team won the Cardinals annual Pitcher's Fielding Practice (PFP) Championship thanks to what Brebbia called, "aggressive moral." You can watch him here:

"It's nice to be so serious about a game," Brebbia said. "I think that's kind of what makes the Cardinals, the Cardinals. We have a lot of respect that we get to show up here every day and not take it for granted."

He was a guest on our Spring Training walk and talks with the Cardinals, you can see more of them with Paul DeJong, Adam Wainwright, Alex Reyes and more, here.
