JUPITER, Fla. (KMOX) - John Mozeliak hears you. How could he not?

Some Cardinals fans, not satisfied with the team’s current offensive options, have made their voices heard on social media, radio ... wherever they can get the attention of the team’s president of baseball operations.

What do they want? Nolan Arenado.

When do they want him? Now.

Mozeliak, speaking on KMOX’s Sports on a Sunday Morning addressed the team’s current position without naming the Rockies’ superstar third baseman:

“Any types of deals that you’re kind of hypothetically talking about, there’s just a lot of complications,” Mozeliak told KMOX’s Tom Ackerman.

“It’s not just a simple ‘Hey, let’s do it.’ But I can understand that there’s a lot of energy to see something get done.”

Fans have clamored for Arenado since well before the seven-time Gold Glover, five-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger said he felt he had been “disrespected” by Colorado’s front office. The Cardinals later lost slugger Marcell Ozuna to Atlanta in free agency and Jose Martinez via trade to Tampa Bay.

“But I hope there’s people that realize that we were one of four teams that were still playing last year when the season was coming towards an end,” Mozeliak said, referring to the team’s advancement to the NLCS last season.

The Cardinals reached the playoffs for the first time since 2015 and defeated the Braves in the NLDS ... before getting swept by the eventual world champion Washington Nationals.

“And we really do feel like we’re in a situation where we can do better,” Mozeliak said.

“This team, there’s a lot of excitement around it. And we really feel good about where we are.”
