ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Kansas City Chiefs' road to repeat as Super Bowl Champs has been set, as the National Football League announced on Thursday the regular season schedule for the 2020 season.

A few things to note about this year's schedule:

  • The schedule includes five primetime games: Weeks 1, 3, 6, 11 an 13.
  • They open the season at home on Sept. 10 against the Houston Texans. Before that game the team will raise its championship banner in celebration of the Super Bowl LIV victory.
  • They take on the new-look Buccaneers with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski in Week 12.

Chiefs single-game tickets will go on sale Friday, May 8 at 8 a.m. for Jackson County taxpayers, 11 a.m. for Chiefs Season Ticket Members and noon for the public. Single-game tickets are subject to availability, dynamic pricing, and will be mobile entry only. Visit www.Chiefs.com for details.

In terms of how the coronavirus pandemic will affect the season, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports, "Per sources with direct knowledge of both the NFL’s deliberations and the current and expected medical and scientific developments in the coming weeks and months, there is an 'extremely small' chance that there will be no NFL season in 2020."

He also reports that "it’s also believed that they will be open to fans, with a strong preference for open stadiums from Week One."
