(ST. LOUIS - KMOX) St. Louis Cardinals Manager Mike Shildt has been named a finalist for the 2019 National League Manager of the Year award.

Shildt led the Cardinals to the NL Central title with a 91-71 record and only one All-Star this past season.

Brewers' skipper Craig Counsell and Braves' manager Brian Snitker are the other two finalists for the award.

Milwaukee finished with a 87-73 record and the second NL Wild Card playoff spot. Atlanta finished as NL East Champions with a 97-65 record.

The vote concluded after the end of the regular season before Shildt led his team to the NLCS as one of the final four teams in the postseason.
