ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- For the next three days you can buy back-to-school items at Missouri stores without paying the state sales tax. However, many area cities will still be collecting their share.

That list includes several cities that have some shopping hot spots such as Clayton, Des Peres, Brentwood, Ferguson, Kirkwood, Maplewood, Richmond Heights, St. Peters, St. Ann, Town and Country and University City.

Several Counties will also still be charging their sales taxes including St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve.

However even if you shop in those jurisdictions,  you'll still save the 4.225 percent state sales tax, if you buy the right items.

Those are clothing under $100 dollars, up to $50 in school supplies, up to $350 in computer software, and up to $15 hundred dollars in personal computers and devices.
