ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A couple of rounds of snow are expected in the St. Louis area on Wednesday that could cause "big traffic headaches" according to the National Weather Service.

The first round of snow will hit the Greater St. Louis Metro area around morning rush hour, but diminish by 9 a.m. Then the second round is expected to hit the same area in the afternoon and is described as "scattered light snow showers."

A coating to an inch can accumulate over most of the area, but closer to 1-2 inches of snow is expected south of St. Louis.

Wednesday night the temperatures will drop into the 20's with a high of 37 degrees on Thursday, according to our partners at AccuWeather.
