UPDATE: No bomb found at O'Fallon, MO Walmart

Police sounded the all clear shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday

O'FALLON, Mo. (KMOX) -- UPDATE 7:20 p.m. -- O'Fallon Police say the Bomb Squad and K9 units have finished their searches inside the Route K Walmart Supercenter and found no evidence of any explosives.

The store is open; the investigation into the threat continues.

UPDATE 6:45 p.m. -- The St. Charles County bomb squad and K9 units from Lambert Airport are searching the Walmart Supercenter in O'Fallon, MO following a bomb threat.
A police spokesman says Walmart received a phone call directly around 3:30 this afternoon and deemed the threat credible enough to evacuate the store. Police got there shortly thereafter and started helping with the evacuation.

The FBI and ATF are also on scene.
Shoe Carnival and Office Max also closed. Police couldn't say when the all clear will be sounded.

Earlier story

Authorities evacuated the Walmart Supercenter at 1308 Highway K in O'Fallon, Missouri Sunday afternoon to investigate a bomb threat.

Police told KMOV some of the surrounding stores were evacuated as well -- KMOX is awaiting a return call for more information.

Authorities are asking people to stay away from the area while the investigation is ongoing.
