ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — It's an early Christmas gift for St. Louis residents.

The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station is opening on Christmas day. From noon to 6 p.m. on December 25, you can tour the 120,000-square-feet of galleries and exhibits, see over 13,000 fish and other aquatic animals, and take part in interactive experience. Also, Lord Stanley the blue lobster will be on hand to greet visitors.

Executive Director Tami Brown told KMOX one of the first things that will greet visitors is an exhibit on the animals that live in and around our two big rivers.

"It's actually the first gallery you come to (in the Aquarium) is what's our own backyard as well," Brown told Total Information A.M. "It'll be a chacne for people to be proud of what's in the Missouri River and Mississippi River and what's around the water as well."
