ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The story of five-time Stanley Cup Champion and the first black Hockey Hall of Famer, Grant Fuhr, will hit the big screen for an exclusive release in St. Louis, next month.

"Making Coco: The Grant Fuhr Story" will be released on Oct. 4, but only at six St. Louis-area Marcus Theatres, according to one of the documentary's creators, Adam Scorgie.

Tickets for the film are on sale now at MarcusTheatres.com

There is also a St. Louis premiere happening Oct. 1, at Ballpark Village, which will be followed by a question and answer opportunity with Fuhr and two of his former St. Louis teammates, Kelly Chase and Darren Pang.

The documentary recaps Fuhr's 19-year career in the NHL and how he handled the ultimate highs and all-time lows — like being suspended for drug use.

He's known as the first black superstar in hockey, winning 403 regular-season NHL games and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003.

Fuhr resurrected his career as a member of the St. Louis Blues from 1995-1999.
