ST. LOUIS (KMOX) updated at 5:50 p.m. - The husband of a St. Louis County woman missing for days has been charged in connection to her disappearance.

Police believe 28-year-old Jennifer Rothwell was murdered and her husband Beau Rothwell, 28, has been charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Police say they have not yet located her body, but there is a blood-stained rug in the Rothwell's home near Parkway North High School. They say there is also surveillance video that shows the husband bought cleaning solutions to allegedly clean up the mess.

Beau Rothwell was arrested Wednesday night.

Investigators elevated the case from a missing person to a homicide on Thursday morning.

Jennifer Rothwell hasn't been since Tuesday morning when she was leaving her home in the 12600 block of Northwinds Drive.

KMOX'S EARLIER REPORTING:

Murder in the First Degree charge is pending.

Her car, a 2011 Hyundai, was found at Olive and Fee also yesterday. Police say Jennifer has no history of elopement and is normally in contact with family and friends daily.
