Enhanced risk of severe weather in St. Louis area; thunderstorm watch until 3pm

The National Weather Service is predicting strong to severe storms, damaging winds as well as large hail and an isolated tornado is also possible

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis area is under an enhanced risk of severe weather until about 3 p.m., Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. 

Here's a view from the KMOX station at about 11:30 a.m.

An organized cluster of thunderstorms capable of severe wind gusts and hail will overspread portions of the Midwest, with the possibility of some flash flooding.

The system is traveling southeast, out of Iowa. It is expected to be past St. Louis city around noon, then will continue down through Farmington, Mo. and Carbondale, Ill.

There's a high of 89 degrees in St. Louis and overnight low of 67 with cloudy to partly cloudy skies all day.
