Normandy Police Raising Money for Motorcycle

March 13, 2018 - 10:13 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Normandy police are closer to their goal of adding a motorcycle to their fleet of vehicles.

Normandy police Sergeant Tony Madigan says they have more than 30 officers on the streets, but they're looking to put at least one of them on two wheels in order to create a closer bond with the public...

"Just a little more community outreach, little more approachable, to be out there, to be seen, it's easier for traffic purposes, it's something we've never done before," he says.

Texas Road House donated 10 percent of Monday's profits toward the cause.

"We had a trivia night a few weeks back, that was a lot of fun, here in Normandy in the St. Ann's Catholic Church, and we raised about $6000," he says.

Coupled with earlier fundraisers that put Normandy police about halfway to their $14 thousand goal of having a motorcycle on the streets by this spring.
