Michael Porter Jr.'s professional career is beginning to look a lot like his collegiate one. The Denver Nuggets announced that the rookie has undergone surgery of the lumbar spine, and there is no timetable for his return to basketball participation.

That is the same city where the 6-foot-10 rookie underwent a microdiscectomy in November, causing him to miss nearly all of his freshman season at the University of Missouri.

The procedure, the Nuggets stated, was performed by Dr. Andrew Dossett.

Porter was selected No. 14 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft in June, after his draft stock plummeted from a expected top-5 before last year's surgery.

Last month when Porter was introduced in Denver, the Nuggets organization stated they were willing to be patient with the first-round pick, who just turned 20-years-old on June 29.
