Police: O'Fallon residents asked to stay inside after armed bank robbery

The O'Fallon Police Department says anyone in the area of the Reliance Bank, at 2455 Highway K should remain inside their homes.

O'FALLON, Mo. (KMOX) updated with photos at 4 p.m. - Police are asking O'Fallon, Mo. are continuing to warn residents to stay off of the streets if they live near a bank that was robbed by a man who is armed, Thursday morning. 

The O'Fallon Police Department says anyone in the area of the Reliance Bank, at 2455 Highway K should remain inside their homes.

The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The suspect is a caucasion man, about 5' 8', wearing blue jeans, a gray hoodie and blue sunglasses. Police ask if you see anything suspicious to call 911. 

A search is underway and police say they will share photos and surveillance video when it becomes available.

Police also say the nearby Dardenne Elementary School has been placed on lockdown and multiple officers have been stationed at the school.
