Olympian Village Alderman Accused of Wire Fraud

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) - An Olympian Village alderman is accused of using the city's bank account to buy $58,000 worth of personal merchandise, and writing $127,000 worth of checks to himself.
 
Gary Atchley, 53, has been indicted on five federal counts of wire fraud. 
 
Prosecutors say Atchley, who was not an authorized signatory on the city's account, committed the crimes between March 2013 and December 2016.
 
If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each of the five counts.
