ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - One week after the August primary, a handful of local elections remain too close to call.

In St. Louis County, a proposal to allow the county council to hire its own lawyer is still undecided.

“Right now it’s down to 3 votes. 125,390 for and 125,393 against,” says Democratic Director of Elections Eric Fey.

Fey says they still need to tally up about 400 provisional ballots, and the results will be final by August 21st.

Meanwhile, in St. Charles County, voters still don't know who won the Democratic and Republican races for state representative in the 102nd district. The candidates are four votes apart on the Republican side and 15 votes apart on the Democratic side, with a total of some 70 provisional ballots yet to be counted.  A winner could be declared as soon as Friday afternoon.
