Ozzie, Oquendo still put the 'hands' in a hands-on coaching

They were staples of St. Louis Cardinals defense for 10 years, now Jose Oquendo is teaching possibly the next secret weapon and Ozzie Smith is sharing his 13-time Gold Glove experience. 

First base coach Stubby Clapp shot grounders to the Cards middle infielders in camp – lead by Major Leaguers Paul DeJong, Kolten Wong and Yairo Munoz – with Oquendo and Smith critiquing.

The two, who played together in St. Louis from 1986 to 1995 even took a few turns in the rotation. 

The Cardinals begin Grapefruit League play this Saturday and you’ll hear John Rooney and Mike Shannon on the call on KMOX at 12:05 p.m. CT against the Miami Marlins.
