ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - More than a dozen people suffered neck, arm and back injuries when two Metro buses collided in Berkeley Monday.  This passenger on the scene tells KMOX News she was paying her fare on the bus in the front when a second bus slammed into the back.

“Basically I was getting on the bus, the bus behind it was trying to speed, but when the bus slowed down to let me on and there was a girl getting off the bus, she had [fallen] off the bus while the bus trying to speed and it ended up smacking the other bus,” she says.

The bus in the back that rammed into the first one had its windshield shattered and was pretty beat up.  Berkeley Fire tells us as many as 17 people were taken to hospitals. Metro spokeswoman Patti Beck says it is not believed that any of the injuries are life-threatening and no other vehicles were involved.
