ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Sunday at Ballpark Village was Patrick Maroon's first in-person introduction to St. Louis Blues fans since the forward signed a one-year deal in July. As a native St. Louisian he knows what kind of hockey town this is, but he described the fans on Sunday as "next level."

He was announced on stage at the Blues Ice Breaker event, along with new acquisitions like Ryan O'Reilly, Tyler Bozak, David Perron and Chad Johnson, and returning Blues Colton Parayko, Mike Yeo, Doug Armstrong and Bob Plager.

"The applause we got as each player walked through, that was nuts," Maroon says. "Coming here to play in St. Louis you really don't know how rowdy the fans are and how passionate they are. That was next level today and that was something special I'll remember for the rest of my life."

He spoke to our Alex Ferrario at the event that was free for all the "thousands" of estimated attendees.

Also on Sunday, the Blues unveiled its new third jersey that will be worn for 11 Saturday night home games for the upcoming season. Maroon was clearly ecstatic.

"Those were like my favorite jersey growing up," Maroon say. "I was praying for those to be our third jersey."
