ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Some players wore yellow ribbons on their hats during yesterday's round one play at the PGA Championship in memory of golfer Jarrod Lyle.

The Australia native died Wednesday night after a long battle with leukemia.

Fellow Aussie golfer Jason Day spoke with KMOX about the loss.

“You think you know him, he’s a buddy of yours, and he’s not there anymore, and he’s never going to come back, so that’s the hardest thing to come by,” he says.

Golfer Rickie Fowler wore a highlighter-green polo shirt at Bellerive yesterday, he says it was the closest thing he had to Lyle's favorite color, yellow.
