ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A warning about a new drug more dangerous than heroin or Fentanyl that could be hitting the St. Louis-area streets.

Because of its color, it's called "pink death," and Ricardo Franklin with the St. Louis County Police Department's Heroin Prevention Initiative says it was blamed for 42 overdoses in one 72-hour period in Minnesota.

The drug is so strong, it can take up to six doses of narcan to revive its victims.

Franklin says it's often combined with other drugs in a "speedball."

"I’ve seen reports of it mixed with cocaine. I read an article from another state that said they’d seen it mixed with cocaine and also in the pill form mixed in with oxycontin," he says.

Franklin says he's investigating reports that it cannot be detected in drug tests.

He says he's still trying to confirm that "Pink Death" is in the area, but there are indications it's here.
