ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - President Donald Trump landed at St. Louis Lambert International Airport just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to meet with business leaders at Boeing and attend a Senate fundraiser for Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley.

Hawley was present as Air Force One touched down, along with a group of citizens and media members.

Trump proceded to Boeing to get a tour of the facility and tout the company's F-18 fighter jet – he wants Congress to approve the purchase of 24 new F-18s for the Navy.

While at Boeing headquarters, the president hosted a roundtable with Missouri business leaders to hear how they've been affected by recent tax cuts.

Trump ended his St. Louis visit at a private fundraiser for Hawley, who hopes to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill in what could be the most-watched Senate race this year.

McCaskill is considered vulnerable and, depending on which poll you look at, is either leading or trailing Hawley by small margins.

Trump was greeted at the Frontenac Hilton by supporters and protesters lining Lindbergh Boulevard.

The president was not the sole target of protesters - some were demonstrating their opposition to Attorney General Hawley.
