ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A proposed ice complex that would serve as the official practice facility for the St. Louis Blues will be discussed tonight by the Maryland Heights Planning Commission.  In order to move forward, it must receive a Conditional Use Permit.

Tuesday evening's meeting will take place at 7pm at Maryland Heights' Government Center on Dorsett Road.

The proposed facility, if it gets built, would be 275,000 square feet and be located next to Hollywood Casino.  The permit application says it would have three indoor ice rinks and one outdoor ice rink.

In addition to the St. Louis Blues, the complex would also be used by Lindenwood University, the Triple-A Blues, St. Louis Blues Alumni and the Lady Cyclones - a program for girls in the region ages 5-19.

Mercy Health would also be involved.  The permit application says it would provide training, rehabiliation and urgent care services on-site.

The Blues' current practice facility is the St. Louis Mills in Hazelwood.
