Bette Midler is speaking her mind on the Oscar nominations, and she’s not holding back!

Midler took to Twitter on Tuesday to propose a new idea for an Oscar spin-off. She began with her distaste for the lack of women in the best director category of the awards show.

“No women received noms for best director Oscar even though many exceptional films were directed by women this year,” she began. Then, she came up with an iconic new idea for an awards show.

“Maybe we just get our own show called the Osc-hers? I guarantee it will be way better organized and way more entertaining!” she continued.

Fans took to the thread to express their encouragement for the idea. “YES Bette!” one user writes. “Please do. Be the leader. I will sure pitch in however much I can.” Another chimed in, “You must be the host!”

Midler isn’t the only star voicing frustrations over the amount of men nominated for Oscars this year. Issa Rae went viral this week for her four-word reaction to the nominees.

Upon listing off the best director nominations for the 92nd Oscars, Rae concluded her remarks with a simple, “Congratulations to those men.” Her deadpan expression led viewers to believe her comment was made in jest.

CNN reports that it’s reminiscent of Natalie Portman’s remarks at the Oscars 2 years ago. When she introduced the category, she made sure to include the quip, “And here are the all-male nominees.”
