Alex Trebek is always persistent when it comes to helping others despite facing his own personal struggles.

The famous "Jeopardy!" host donated $100,000 to the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, reported TMZ. The organization is a nonprofit that focuses on preventing, eliminating and reducing poverty, homelessness and hunger.

It provides nearly 93,000 nights of safe shelter and 290,000 hot meals every year. Ken Craft, the CEO of the company, said that Trebek has been a donor for a while. He recently requested a tour of the new shelter that they were building in North Hollywood, California.

After Trebek's visit, the CEO invited him to discuss the shelter's financial plans. Craft said in the meeting Trebek gave him an envelope that had a check in it for $100,000.

As for helping this shelter, Trebek has been known for sharing his inspiring words to others.

Since being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Trebek still continues to remain positive. Back in January, he sent a message to Congressman John Lewis (D-GA) as they both are fighting pancreatic cancer.

“We’re starting a new year, and let’s see if we can’t both complete the year as pancreatic cancer survivors,” Trebek said.

Lewis, the Georgia Democrat announced his diagnosis via Twitter in December. In his statement, he said he has no plans to step aside and said, "I have a fighting chance."
