'Right to Work' Campaign Heating Up Before Election

July 24, 2018 - 7:43 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The campaign for and against Right to Work is heating up.

The measure was approved by Republican legislators and former Gov. Eric Greitens last year. Under it, workers wouldn't have join a union or pay dues, but would still receive the union's benefits.

Missouri Democratic Party Chair Stephen Webber was out knocking doors in Centralia, urging people to vote against Prop A.

“ I think it’s very important to protect the union’s right to bargain, keep our wages up and our health care costs down and our benefits for our health up,” says one canvasser.

Republicans say employers would rather create jobs in Right to Work states.

The election is August 7th.
