SLU Picked to Finish 1st in A10

Following Saint Louis in the poll is Saint Joseph's, and defending champion Davidson was picked third.

Saint Louis University has been voted the No. 1 team in the Atlantic 10 Conference for the 2018-19 men’s basketball preseason poll. The poll was released along with preseason all-conference awards Thursday morning, before thestart of its annual Media Day at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Billikens finished 17-16 overall last year and 9-9 in the A-10 and just two years ago were picked to finish dead last in a the conference preseason poll. Saint Louis hasn't won the Atlantic 10 Championship since 2013, and captured regular season titles in 2013 and 2014.

They're expected to be lead this year by preseason All-Conference selections Javon Bess (second-team and the preseason All-Defensive team), Jordan Goodwin (second-team) and Hasahn French (third-team).

The awards and poll were chosen by a panel of the league’s head coaches and select media members.
