ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It was announced in open court Monday by both sides that Scott Faughn delivered $50,000 to the attorney representing the ex-husband of Gov. Eric Greitens' former mistress, on behalf of an unrevealed original source.

Faughn says it was his money given to attorney Albert Watkins.

KMOX's Mark Reardon revealed Tuesday afternoon that Faughn, publisher of The Missouri Times, says he was the original source behind the $50,000 cash payment to Watkins.

"Faughn says that he was the source of the money. He said, 'It was my money,'" Reardon said.

"There's all kinds of follow-up questions here, about if that's the truth," Reardon continued. "Do I believe that it was his money? I do not. I think the money had to come from somewhere else."
