Six homicides in St. Louis over weekend

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Homicide detectives have been busy working cases in the city of St. Louis, since the noon hour Friday - four scenes total.

Officers say the first incident was an apparent murder-suicide in the 4900 block of Farlin. A man shot a woman several times before turning the gun on himself.

Just before one, Friday afternoon, police found a man shot dead in the 4200 block of Clay. On Saturday, a first-degree murder charge was filed against 39-year-old Carliss Cordell (pictured).

The third incident happened outisde NBC bar on MLK Drive after one Saturday morning. Police say 51-year-old Lonnie Bailey and 41-year-old Lazarus Baber got into an argument then exchanged gunfire. Both men died from their injuries.

The fourth homicide happened just before three Saturday morning in the 5800 block of Cote Brilliante. Police say they found a man on a curb with a gunshot wound on his head.

Two more shootings took place Sunday. A man reportedly called St. Louis police shortly before 9 a.m. to state that he shot someone he knows at his front door on 5300 Virginia. Police found the man dead of a gunshot wound to the head.

A little over an hour later, shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday, a man was found dead near Clara and MLK Drive.
