17-state recall on pre-cut melon; 93 salmonella cases reported

The melon from Caito Foods was sold at Kroger, Walmart, Trader Joe's, Target, and Whole Foods stores in Missouri and Illinois, along with 15 other states

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you have diced melon in the fridge, it may be best to take it back to the store. 

There's a 17 state recall for pre-sliced melon that was processed at an Indianapolis plant, after 93 total cases have been reported in the outbreak.

The melon from Caito Foods was sold at Kroger, Walmart, Trader Joe's, Target, and Whole Foods stores in Missouri and Illinois, along with 15 other states. 

This includes pre-cut watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and fruit medley products. Either take your package back to the store or simply toss it.
