What Would You Change If You Were MLB Commissioner For a Day?

We could move up the mound, bring the fences in, or put a new twist on the bullpen cart.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - We certainly like our St. Louis Cardinals players in the positions they are now, but we had some fun as they imagined themselves in a new role – commissioner of Major League Baseball.

On this weeks episode of the Ameren Illinois Inside Pitch former Cardinals pitcher Kyle McClellan asked the players what they would change if they could spend one day in charge of baseball.

There were some fun answers from Paul DeJong suggesting to bring the outfield fences in. Then Alex Reyes and Tyler Lyons think the strike zone needs to be a bit bigger and the mound closer to home plate.

Wainwright's idea of making all foul tips that are caught by the catcher (not just on a third strike) be outs. But followed that up with a more truthful answer, which was that he wouldn't change the game at all.

"I think it's a pretty great game, I think it's great the way it is," Wainwright. Reyes agreed.
