ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Cardinals are beefing up their pitching staff, trading right-handed pitcher Sam Tuivailala to Seattle for minor league right-handed pitcher Seth Elledge.

Elledge will start playing for the Cardinals AA team in Springfield.

Also, the Cardinals are calling up several pitchers from the farm club system to play at Busch Stadium: Right-handed pitcher Luke Weaver, left-handed pitcher Tyler Webb, right-handed pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon.

The Cardinals are also purchasing right-handed pitcher Dakota Hudson.

Designated for assignment are left-handed pitcher Tyler Lyons, and right-handed pitcher Greg Holland.

Suffering from a swollen foot, left-handed pitcher Brett Cecil is placed on the ten-day disabled list retroactive to July 23.
