St. Louis County Police Officer's Association Speaks Out Against Latest Prop P Raises

May 11, 2018 - 9:07 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis County Police Officer's Association is speaking out against those raises received by workers in the County Justice Center, reported earlier this week by KMOX News.

Association Business Manager Matt Crecelius fired off a letter saying that six of the seven County Council members “violated the public trust” by passing what he calls a liberal spending bill to extend the raises to 55 employees.

“This is a gross misappropriation of public safety funds which the voters in St. Louis County overwhelming approved to be used for police and public safety, correction, prosecutors,” he says.

Only 5th District Councilman Pat Dolan, who voted against the raises, escaped the police union's wrath.

Crecelius says the county health department already has its own funding through a property tax.

While he's not threatening legal action, he is urging county residents to call their council representative to voice their displeasure.
