ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis and its sports authorities are off the hook, but the Los Angeles Rams are on the hook for millions of dollars in a lawsuit filed by a former NFL running back.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports a St. Louis jury awarded Reggie Bush $12.5 million Tuesday.

Bush, who played for the San Francisco 49ers at the time, suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2015 when he slipped on the so-called "concrete ring of death" at the then-Edward Jones Dome. His attorneys say Bush was in line for up to a three-year contract at the time of a season-ending injury.

The Rams contended there was no way they could have forseen that dangerous condition, given no one had been injured on that ring in 20 years up until that season.

The team is going to file a motion for a new trial.
