St. Louis Motel Scene of 2-Hour Standoff

The two-hour standoff at a north St. Louis motel ended with the suspect taking his own life.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis city police trying to serve a warrant at a northside motel back off when they hear a gunshot from inside.
Upon forcing their way into the room at the First Western Inn motel at Broadway and Grand a couple of hours later, they discovered the 27-year-old man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The man's girlfriend and her 5-year-old son were able to make it out of the room without injury.

The name of the suspect, who was being sought on numerous warrants, has not been released.

The motel was evacuated for a couple of hours before the "all-clear" was given about 10:30 Friday morning.
