ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis City police say a Thursday evening shooting near Tucker and Spruce did not involve any fans heading to Enterprise Center for the Blues hockey game.

"This is an isolated incident. Obviously we want people to come downtown. We believe downtown is safe. Crime in downtown is significantly down since the first of the year. People are safe. We're working hard to keep people safe," said police captain Renee Kriesmann at a news conference afterward.

Kriesmann said shots were fired from a black sedan into a white sedan.

The black sedan crashed at Compton and Olive. Officers took 3 of the 4 occupants into custody after a foot chase. One got away.

Police say the victim, who was driving a stolen car, was shot three times. He was taken to a hospital.
