ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — A movement to shine a light on St. Louis and the great work being done across the region.

It's called STLMade.  It's a movement that wants to establish St. Louis' narrative through storytelling and emphasize the innovators, thinkers, doers and makers across the area.

Lee Broughton joined the STLMade movement.  He says there are some St. Louis institutions more famous *outside* the region than inside it.  The goal is to grow pride St. Louis has in these instituions.

Broughton says if the movement is successful, the next startup may just move to St. Louis.  More investment dollars may also come this way.

To tell the story of St. Louis, STLMade officials say they're committed to:

  • Storytelling through a lens of who and what is making the St. Louis area more successful, inclusive and unique
  • Striving to represent diverse perspectives and voices from every part of the region in our story subjects as well as in our storytellers
  • Honesty and integrity
