Target will let you get a jump on Thanksgiving shopping by opening at 5 p.m. on Turkey Day.

Target stores nationwide will be opening one hour earlier than last Thanksgiving. Stores will then close at 1 a.m., re-opening for Black Friday madness at 7 a.m.

On past holidays, "we've had lines outside our stores across the country," a Target spokeswoman told CNBC. "In fact, some guests show up hours in advance of opening. That tells us there's a desire from our guests to start their holiday shopping earlier."

Target also said it will have a new, mobile checkout option in stores to allow rushed shoppers to "skip the line."

Kohl's and Macy's will also open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving this year.
