St. Louis police say the 10-year-old boy shot Friday night on a front porch in the 4700 block of Page has died.

The only additional information released Saturday is that they are looking for a blue SUV in connection with the drive-by incident.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A ten-year-old boy was fighting for his life, late Friday, after a shooting in the 4700 block of Page.

St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden says the child and four adults were on a porch around 8:30 pm when a dark-colored vehicle drove by, "Some occupant from that vehicle fired what we now believe to be an assault rifle at that family. The boy was the only one struck."

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a chest wound.

Hayden says the department's homicide unit has taken over the investigation and welcomes any tips.

He says the boy's father was one of the adults standing on the porch with him at the time of the gunfire.
