Tensions Rise in Greitens Pre-Trial

May 10, 2018 - 9:47 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The lawyers lose it and start shouting at each other during the latest pre-trial hearing in the Eric Greitens case.

Greitens lawyer Jim Martin was at the podium asking the judge for sanctions against the prosecutor, when the prosecutor's Chief Trial Assistant Robert Dierker tried to interrupt.

"I'm not finished," Martin said raising his voice and throwing Dierker a boiling glance. "You're never finished!" Dierker shouted back.

Dierker later apologized, and the judge ruled that he's not going to let Greitens lawyers tell the jury about all the alleged lying and foot dragging. But the judge added the issues of sanctions against the prosecutor will survive this trial.

The judge also ruling the jury should be told about the $120,000 cash payment given to ex-husband's lawyer, the man who broke the story.
