TROY, IL. (KMOX) -  A Troy Illinois man is charged in connection with the discovery of a woman's body inside a car.

It happened in Troy back on June 14th, when officers responding to a call at 532 Wren Hill found an unresponsive woman, later identified as Brandi Novotny.

Using evidence recovered from a cell phone, police determined that Novotny had been restrainted and died during "inappropriate sexual acts".

This week the Madison County State's Attorney's office issued a 16-count indictment against 55-year-old Brian France of Troy, in whose car Novotny's body was found.

Each of 12 counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault filed against France carries a prison term of up to 30 years.

He's also charged with involuntary manslaugter.

Bond for France has been set at $10 million.
