ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Two suspects are dead, a third is hospitalized in critical condition, after their stolen vehicle crashed while being chased by St. Louis police.

Chief John Hayden, on the scene late last night, says officers came across a Honda Accord stolen earlier this month.

They attempted to pull the car over, and at two different points, one of the passengers got out and exchanged gunfire with officers.

The suspects led officers on Natural Bridge, then north on Lucas and Hunt. There, while driving north, their stolen Honda Accord crossed into the southbound lanes, and struck a pick-up truck head-on.

The driver of the truck is hospitalized in stable condition. No officers were hurt.

"In the car, there were two semi-automatic pistols, an assault rifle, and a large quantity of capsules with white powder, which are suspected narcotics," Hayden told the media.
