FARMINGTON/COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMOX) — A woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash southwest of Farmington last night.

It happened at around 8 p.m. on Highway 221 near Beal Road.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Jessie Skaggs lost control of her car on a patch of ice. Her car spun, ended up in the other lane, and was hit from behind.

Skaggs was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver wasn't hurt.

Meanwhile, a 4-year-old girl was hit by a car and killed near the entrance of a high school in Columbia, Missouri.

It happened yesterday at about 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Battle High School. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a car left the roadway to park when it hit Gabriella Curry.

She was rushed to University of Missouri Hospital, where she died about a half hour later.
