Venture Cafe Hosts Theme Night for Women Entrepreneurs

May 25, 2018 - 10:45 am

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Rosie the Riveter images were all over Cortex yesterday, as Venture Cafe had a special theme night for women entrepreneurs.

It was sponsored by Maryville University, which had an introduction to cyber security careers, and PNC Bank, which had a "Knowledge Bar" where successful women answered questions and shared advice.

“We have quite he cross section of different industries. We have non-profit and for profit, we have women who are developing technology apps, we have women whose businesses are providing services, consultants, we have food companies. It’s all across the board and it’s really exciting,” says Mindy Mazur, executive director of Brazen St. Louis.

Mazur co-hosted a session about successful entrepreneurs being mentors, and then headed off to a roundtable discussion about retail -- whether women should try to get their products on a big store's shelves, open their own shop, or sell online.
