BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, Mo. (KMOX) - There's increasing concern for a veteran who left the Veterans Home in Bellefontaine Neighbors Friday and hasn't been seen since.

Police Sgt. John Thompson says 79-year-old Jon Stacey has permission to leave the home, and often does so to buy liquor and drink it in a room at a local hotel, "He did not check in there this time. But, apparently he talked to some of the residents at the veterans home and said he might go to a more upscale hotel because his monthly check was larger than normal."

Thompson says Stacey was seen getting into a car at the home late Friday. "It was described as being possibly a yellow and white taxi cab. But, we called all the taxi cab companies and none of them have a record of making a pick up at that location."

Stacey has a heart condition and needs medication.

He's described as a 6'2" 155 pound white man with brown eyes and gray-colored short hair.

If you've seen him, call Bellefontaine Police at 636-529-8210.
