Police are still searching for the gunman who killed a clerk at a Family Dollar store during a botched robbery earlier this month.

Investigators say the killer entered the store on North Grand, announced a robbery and began firing shots.

A store clerk who was hit died at the scene.

The shooter ran off without taking anything. The suspect was last seen fleeing east on foot, through an apartment complex armed with a handgun. He's described as a black male, medium build, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, purple or blue sweatpants, and a baseball cap with a red bill.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 866-371-TIPS (8477), or the Homicide Division at (314) 444-5371.
