VP Mike Pence Discusses, Economy, Supreme Court Nomination in Kansas City

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Vice President Mike Pence is in Kansas City yesterday, speaking before a partisan audience that cheered loudly when Pence said that President Donald Trump has kept his campaign promises and boosted the economy.

"We approved the Keystone and Dakota pipelines, we rolled back the clean power plan, and President Trump put American first when he withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Accord,” he says.

Pence is touching on a number of other topics, including the newly-announced nominee for the Supreme Court.

“Judge Kavanaugh is a principle jurist who will interpret the constitution as written, and not legislate from the bench. Judge Brett Kavanaugh deserves the support of every member of the United states senate,” he says.

Pence also touched on November's mid-term election, saying he's confident that Missourians will vote out Claire McCaskill and send a conservative to Washington in her place.

It's the vice president's first trip back to Missouri since early 2017 when he helped former Governor Eric Greitens clean up a vandalized Jewish cemetery in University City.
