Woman Killed in Freak Concrete Accident Identified

She has been identified as Jan Mokwa - wife of the former St. Louis police chief.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX/AP) - The woman killed when a chunk of concrete fell off the Forest Park Parkway bridge onto her car has been identified as Janet Mokwa -- wife of the former chief of police for the city of St. Louis. 
Janet Torrisi Mokwa and Joe Mokwa were married 25 years.

She started a leadership consuslting firm, Congruence Inc. She earlier worked in management for Aurthur Anderson, and also spent time at the Leadership Center at Boeing. Jan Mokwa also served on the Humane Society board.  

She was 58. 

Police say Jan Mokwa died instantly Monday after a car crashed into a concrete barrier on a bridge, dislodging a large piece of a concrete barrier. The concrete fell onto her Tesla as she drove on Forest Park Parkway below the bridge. 

Police say the 22-year-old driver of the car that struck the barrier was treated for minor injuries.
